Stroke Patient Increases Mobility with Aquatic Therapy

Warm Water Therapy Helps Osteoarthritis Patient

One recent example where this form of therapy took place was with a patient at Vital Energy Wellness and Rehab Center in Lexington, SC. She came to Vital Energy with severe osteoarthritis in both knees and paralysis on the right side of her body from a stroke. The individual was transferred to the HydroWorx pool via a wheelchair to the chairlift and then lowered into the warm water. When she first arrived at Vital Energy Wellness and Rehab Center, she was unable to stand, walk or perform daily functions on her own.

With the use of warm water therapy her pain has decreased while her strength and ability to assist with transfers has improved.

Decrease Pain

Her pain level has gone down significantly and day to day functions such as rolling over in bed and sitting up in a chair have gotten easier. The rehabilitation program has enabled her to increase some muscle strength and improve overall balance.
