Peripheral neuropathy is a condition that’s seen when someone has damage to his or her peripheral nervous system.  According to the National Peripheral Neuropathy Institute, approximately 20 million people suffer from neuropathy in the United States.

Symptoms may include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Numbness and/or tingling
  • Balance issues
  • Sensitivity
  • Weakened muscles
  • Pain

Dealing with peripheral neuropathy can be difficult for physical therapists because each patient experiences very different side effects.  Some may be overcome; others must be compensated for.

  1. I have peripheral neuropathy since 2009 and my doctor at Kaiser Hospital .org is not helping much. I am in constant pain, I am 64 years old . please help.

  2. Neurophathy/Peripheral are the CHEMOTHERAPY side effects which is painful. Terrified of the cold weather which makes it worse like no feelings! Why primary Dr. In Inland Empire won’t honor the request for the treatments. United HealthCare and MediCare except the coverage. Medication is ONLY A TEMPORARY COVER not like the WaterTherapy which is the BEST TREATMENTS.

  3. I’m surprised why our Health Insurance doesn’t honor or supposedly never heard of! The Hydro Worx treatment! Primary Dr. In San Bernardino. Ca never heard of this. I mentioned this to her since it would be beneficial for Neurophathy Peripheral treatment after Chemotherapy ( Cancer). Most Dr.’s rather prescriped medications which doesn’t on the long run helps the suffering. Medications is meant for $$$$$$ in the pockets!
