HydroWorx Sets Out to Redefine Aging at Annual LeadingAge Event in Nashville with Underwater Marathon, Expert Talks and More
Growing older doesn’t have to mean slowing down: That’s the message HydroWorx is sending to all attendees of the annual LeadingAge conference event in Nashville, Tennessee, from October 20-22, 2014. The company’s booth will offer participants the opportunity to find out how aging is being redefined thanks to the power of water. The scientific benefits of rehabbing and exercising in a specialized pool fitted with an underwater treadmill will be highlighted with expert discussions and a highly-anticipated Underwater Marathon.
The Baby Boomer population is rising each year, and its members are unlike former generations in terms of their collective desire to stay fit and active as long as possible. However, the natural aging process can sometimes make wellness more challenging with the onset of conditions such as osteoarthritis and other chronic health issues. To offset these challenges, many seniors are turning to the power of water. By exercising and, when necessary, undergoing physical and occupational therapy on a regular basis in an advanced pool with variable depth underwater treadmill floor and resistance jets, Baby Boomers are experiencing enormously positive health benefits. These benefits are allowing them to live stronger, more active lives; some have even discovered an “inner athlete” they didn’t know existed!
To celebrate this exhilarating new outlook on active aging, HydroWorx, the leading manufacturer of underwater treadmill therapy pools, is participating in the October 20-22, 2014 LeadingAge event at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee. HydroWorx will be located in Booth #1436, where attendees can enjoy a multitude of activities and educational opportunities related to the innate powers of water, including:
• An onsite HydroWorx underwater treadmill pool where a HydroWorx Underwater Marathon will take place. Every mile that is run or walked underwater during exhibit hours will result in a donation of $50 courtesy of HydroWorx to the LeadingAge Center for Applied Research. Signing up for the Underwater Marathon is as easy as clicking here.
• A quick survey that could be worth $50! Each attendee is asked to fill out a market survey, after which he or she will be automatically entered to potentially win a $50 American Express card. Five winners will receive American Express cards during the course of the LeadingAge conference, with drawings held each day.
• HydroWorx T-Shirts for survey participants. A limited number of T-shirts will be available at the HydroWorx booth; they will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, so early visits are suggested.
• A photo booth with water-related props. Sharing on social media of any pics is encouraged!
According to HydroWorx CEO and co-founder Anson Flake, the 2014 LeadingAge conference is a great way to demonstrate how HydroWorx products assist aging adults. “Our products have helped athletes recover from serious injuries; elite runners break records; and everyday people achieve incredible personal successes. Our underwater treadmill pools have played a part in numerous scientific studies that show how powerful water can be as a cross-training method, a weight-loss initiator, a therapeutic tool and a wellness promoter. We can’t wait to share our enthusiasm for our pools and the way ‘water worx’ for older adults at LeadingAge.”
