HydroWorx Customers Hammer Out Hockey Championships

Middletown, PA-HydroWorx is proud to call three newly-crowned hockey champions customers. These elite teams recognize that aquatic therapy in HydroWorx underwater treadmill machines keeps their best players on the ice and in a power play.

Among HydroWorx’s newest customers, the Pittsburgh Penguins took the Stanley Cup finals by storm. They forced a seventh game in the series against the favored Detroit Red Wings and ultimately seized the NHL championship.

Most gave Pittsburgh little chance to make it back to the finals for the second year in a row, due to the number of salary cap casualties they suffered last offseason. However, the Pens have overachieved all year and Sydney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jordan Staal, and company consistently amazed crowds and opponents alike. Incidentally, Pittsburgh defeated another HydroWorx customer, the Alexander Ovechkin-led Washington Capitals, in a series along the way.

Much of the Penguins’ consistency can be credited to team Chairman Mario Lemieux’s effective selection of coaching and medical staffs. The athletic trainers do a fantastic job of keeping their players healthy with the top rehabilitation and exercise equipment available. The Penguins will install a HydroWorx 1200 Series underwater treadmill, ThermalPlunge, and PolarPlunge pools in the new Pittsburgh Arena, which will open in time for next season. Soon to be armed with the finest aquatic therapy on the planet, the Penguins’ plan to continue their icy assault on the rest of the NHL.

The Hershey Bears of the AHL just won their league-record 10th Calder Cup– that makes two championships in the last four years.

What’s a major part of the secret to the team’s consistent success? The Hershey squad has been healing with HydroWorx since their 1997 championship season. The Bears’ HydroWorx 500 Series underwater treadmill machine and their refrigerated PolarPlunge pool keep all four lines healthy and fit.

Hockey’s collegiate champions also share an affinity for HydroWorx hydrotherapy. Perennial powerhouse Boston University won its fifth NCAA championship this season. The Boston players are always in top form—in part, due to aquatic therapy in the school’s ThermalPlunge and PolarPlunge pools. Two of Boston’s major national championship competitors, the University of Maine and the University of North Dakota, also benefit from HydroWorx hydrotherapy.
