In this webinar, Kayla Greiner and Jason Yoder of the Sports Medicine Center at Children’s Mercy Kansas City will provide insight into the development of a sports medicine aquatic therapy program that serves a wide range of patients and athletes. They will discuss the criteria used in pool room design from an architectural perspective while keeping in mind the needs of their patients. Kayla and Jason will highlight additional considerations relating to pool maintenance including HVAC, pool decking, chemicals and locker rooms. They will discuss additional sports aquatic therapy equipment that is useful based on the goal of each treatment session. Jason and Kayla will provide a high level overview of their typical patient diagnoses, aquatic therapy progressions and transition to land-based therapy. They will share open dialogue via questions and answers to provide first hand experiences as guidance for other providers.
