Incorporating Aquatic Therapy into Functional Rehab for Return to Play Protocols and Progressions

In this webinar, presenter Rod Scott, Associate Athletic Trainer with the Jacksonville Jaguars professional football team, will discuss innovative ways of incorporating aquatic therapy into functional rehab for return to play protocols and progressions. Rod will first share an overview of the aquatic therapy program based in the athletic training facility inside EverBank Field before discussing various strategies, utilization of equipment, as well as sport-specific techniques for full extremity aquatic therapy.

Rod will review the protocols for incorporating aquatic therapy into the rehabilitation of a lower extremity injury, upper extremity injury and core injury. Rod will demonstrate the progressive exercises used to transition from early limitations to range of motion restoring exercises and sport-specific techniques. He will demonstrate equipment that may be beneficial for certain stages of aquatic therapy. Rod will describe the process of transitioning from an aquatic environment to the playing environment.

The presenter will provide case examples with pictures and videos.
