Location: Texas

Grand Prairie Independent School District (GPISD) provides physical therapy services as part of its Special Education Related Services program in Grand Prairie, Texas. School-based physical therapy is available to students who qualify through an evaluation process and have identified needs that impact mobility, access to the educational environment, or participation in school activities. Licensed physical therapists work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students with disabilities by improving strength, balance, coordination, posture, and functional movement skills needed for classroom and campus participation. Services are individualized and integrated into a student’s IEP, often focusing on goals such as safe mobility, gait training, adaptive positioning, and independence in school routines. Therapy may be provided in various school settings and is designed to help students succeed academically and functionally within their educational environment.
