The University of Detroit Mercy recently announced the launch of its Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, designed to prepare future physical therapists through a curriculum that combines evidence-based practice, advanced technology, interprofessional education, and community engagement. The program emphasizes clinical excellence through immersive experiences in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community health organizations, while also fostering leadership development and a commitment to serving underserved populations. Students will train in state-of-the-art physical therapy and simulation laboratories and learn alongside other healthcare disciplines, including nursing and physician assistant students. Rooted in the university’s Jesuit and Mercy traditions, the program focuses on compassionate, ethical, and patient-centered care.
