The College Bowl Games are coming to a close, with one Big Game Left Tonight!

As we head into tonight’s BCS Championship game, an exciting one to say the least, lets have a look at how the Bowl Games went for HydroWorx customers!

Kicking off the bowl game season on Dec 15th, 2012, were Nevada and Arizona. The Gildan New Mexico Bowl game took place in Albuquerque, NM and was one of the most exciting and intense bowl games of this season. Arizona took the win with two touchdown passes in the final 42 seconds of the game. Arizona trailed 21-0 in the first quarter and was down 45-28 starting the final quarter.  Matt Scott, AZ quaterback, threw for 382 yards and marched his team back into the game despite two early interceptions. With the final, 49-48, the two teams finished with 1,237 total yards!

The next bowl game featuring HydroWorx users was between Washington and Boise State in the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl on December 22nd. This game was only the second time these two teams had met on turf. This was another exciting finish where the Boise State kicker, Michael Frisina kicked the winning 37-yard field goal with only 1:16 left. Despite the loss for Washington, Bishop Sankey had 205 yards rushing and 74 yards receiving, giving him 279 of Washington’s 447 yards from scrimmage, earning him game MVP!

Two more HydroWorx customers battled it out on December 28th. Rutgers and Virginia Tech competed in the Florida Citrus Bowl (Russell Athletic Bowl) game in Orlando, FL. This was the only bowl game this season to head into overtime, where the Hokies finished on top with a 13-10 victory.  Rutgers was leading 10-0 heading into the 4th quarter, before Virginia Tech’s 13 unanswered points including the 22-yard field goal on the first possession of overtime by Cody Journell.

The Capital One Bowl game, held on January 1st in Orlando, Florida was a high scoring game between no. 7 Georgia and No 16 Nebraska, both loyal HydroWorx customers! The Bulldogs finished on top, 45-31 against the Cornhuskers. Georgia QB and game MVP Aaron Murray threw five touchdown passes and 427 yards, setting a new Georgia bowl record. As a result of this game, Georgia reached 12 wins for the third time in school history!

Also on January 1st, Wisconsin and Stanford came head to head in the Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, CA. At the end of 4 completed quarters, Stanford finished with the win, 20-14 over Wisconsin. This year’s bowl win is Stanford’s sixth Rose Bowl victory and the Cardinals finished with 12 victories for the second time in school history.

Northern Illinois faced Florida State in the Orange Bowl on January 1st as well in sunny Miami, Florida. The Seminoles controlled the majority of the game and the Huskies could not keep up. Florida State had a lot of speed and depth and finished the game 31-10. Additionally, Noles Lonnie Pryor, game MVP, ran for a career-high 134 yards and two TDs on just five rushes.

Two days later on January 3rd, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl took place between two more HydroWorx users, Oregon (#4) and Kansas State (5) in Glendale, Arizona. Unfortunately Kansas State could not keep up with the Oregon Ducks who went on to win 35-17. Oregon controlled the game from the opening kickoff, when De’Anthony Thomas returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown! However, Kansas State and its Heisman Trophy finalist, Collin Klein, worked extremely hard from the opening kickoff, demonstrating their persistence and dedication to winning no matter the score.

Needless to say this year’s Bowl season has been quite exciting to watch. However there is still one game left, quite an important one too! Tonight Notre Dame, another loyal user of aquatic therapy, will face Alabama in the biggest game of their college football season. Who do you predict to come out with the win?
