Oregon track & field:, Mo Farah have a record-setting Saturday in the 5000 meters at Birmingham, England

Former Oregon star set a U.S. indoor record in the 5000 meters Saturday at the Aviva Grand Prix in Birmingham, England with a time of 13 minutes 11.44 seconds.

Rupp’s new teammate, Mo Farah won the race in a time of 13:10.60, a British and European record.

The U.S. record had been 3:11.50, set last year by Bernard Lagat.

Lagat tweeted this shortly after the race: “Congratulations to RUPP on New AR in 5k! Excellent and well deserved reward of hard work and determination. 13:.11.44.”
